Sian has always worked in Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare and is passionate about enabling people and organisations to bring innovative medicines to patients all over the world. Most recently, Sian worked at Vertex Pharmaceuticals in London leading HR for their International region.

Prior to Vertex, Sian had the pleasure to live and work in both Sweden and Switzerland while working for Baxter. Sian led both country and regional HR teams and has served as part of Country, Regional and Global HR and Business Leadership teams. While at Baxter Sian gained further experience in Talent Management, and most recently before joining Vertex in the UK, Sian lived and worked in Zurich leading HR for their Emerging Markets region, which encompassed more than 100 countries and 2,500 employees in a region spanning from South Africa to Russia.

Sian has a degree in Human Resources Management and is a CIPD Fellow. Sian is passionate about developing people and teams and enjoys building robust relationships with her colleagues. Enjoying work is high on Sian’s agenda and you’ll often hear her discussing Employee Experience and Employee Engagement and the direct correlation to productivity and better business results.

Sian is SVP HR EMEA and ROW reporting to and working closely with the President EMEA and ROW (with a dotted line to KK’s Global Head of HR in Tokyo) also a member of the Regional Executive Team. In this role Sian is responsible for the People Strategy and its delivery across the region, developing a high performing, strategically and operationally aligned organization to drive innovation and growth.

Closely partnering with the Executive Team and Global HR Leaders to deliver on key strategic priorities, including developing an HR Strategy to support the ambitious growth of the organisation and the cultural shift required. Building a strong HR foundation positioning HR as a strategic business partner to enable this growth and provide strategic direction and guidance to the Executive Team.
